  • Polling Station at St. James & St. Ann's School

St. James & St. Ann’s School gym will be used as a polling station for the federal election for the advance poll dates as well as election day.  The advance polls will be open on October 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th, and the election will take place on October 21st.  If you would like to work at the election as a Poll Clerk, Officer, or Registration or Information Officer, you will be trained and paid for this work, and may request to be posted at our location.  If this is something that you are interested in doing, please contact the school directly by clicking here and your name will be passed on to our Returning Officer.

  • Early Dismissal Day - September 18th

This Wednesday, September 18th, will be our first early dismissal day of the year for our staff meeting.  Please note the students should come to school with a snack and lunch on September 18th, but they will be dismissed at 12:55pm.  The Thunder Club will be open for children to go to if their parents can’t get to the school by 12:55pm, and the charge will be the same as the morning drop-in rate if they are picked up by 2:30pm.  This is a convenient service for our families, and the children love to attend the Thunder Club.

  • Work Bee - September 14th

The Work Bee is taking place at the school today, September 14th, from 9:00am – 2:00pm.  For those parents who are attending, please bring a cordless weed eater or trimmer with you to help with some outdoor work, if possible.  We appreciate all of your help!

  • Lost and Found

Even though the school year is only two weeks old, there are already a number of items in our Lost and Found bin.  The next time you are at the school, please take a look in the bin to see if any of the items belong to your child.

  • Busy Week Ahead

This week there are many activities taking place at the school and beyond, so please visit the calendar on the school’s website by clicking here to see all of the events.  From auditions, to sports practices, to Outdoor Education at Stillwood Camp for our Grade 7s, our students are a very busy group!

  • Would you like to be on the REC for St. James & St. Ann's Elementary School?

St. James & St. Ann’s Elementary School is happy to welcome the communities of Sts. Joachim and Ann, and St. Joseph’s.  As a result of this change, the Regional Education Committee is restructuring to bring 2 members from each parish community to the REC.  Any parishioners who are eligible for nomination and interested in being on the REC can contact the nominating committee by clicking here for more information.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted in writing and in a sealed envelope no later than September 18th to the school office.  Please address them to the St. James & St. Ann’s REC Nominating Committee.  Please click here for a nomination form.

The REC represents the Board of Directors of the CISVA and assists the Pastor and the Principal in the operation of the school by setting local school policies, and ensuring that the policies of the CISVA are followed.  The effectiveness of our school is strengthened by clergy and lay people working together with faith and commitment for the education of our young people.  Please consider your practice of stewardship by serving as a member of the REC at St. James & St. Ann’s School.

Thank you, the St. James & St. Ann’s Elementary School REC.
