  • Care for Everyone in Our Common Home

Happy Thanksgiving! There are indeed so many things to be thankful for. Our sincere hope is that you find time this long weekend to be with your family and to help your children develop a spirit of gratitude that will allow them to appreciate all the wonderful gifts that God has bestowed upon them.

  • SJB International Student Requires Transportation

There is a student at SJB who is in desperate need of rides to and from school. She is a lovely international student in Grade 11. SJB is looking for a family that lives in the vicinity of 31501 Upper Maclure Road (the location of her homestay). If any of our families who live close to that address would be able to help, she would be very grateful, and we would very much appreciate it. Please contact the Office at SJB (604) 855-0571 if you are able to help.

  • Upcoming Work Bee

For those participating in the upcoming October 14 Work Bee, Aldona is asking that you bring work gloves and if possible, rakes, shears for cutting shrubs, and other gardening tools.

  • Remind

The email for Remind went out on Wednesday, October 4th.. If you would like to receive text messages through Remind on your iPhone or Android please email principal@stjameselementary.ca and Mr. van der Pauw will provide instructions for you. Many parents have already signed up which is great. Please remember that we will only use the school wide announcements messaging system for major announcements or emergency announcements.

  • Absentee Notes

Absentee notes were sent home on Friday with children that we do NOT have a note on file for.  When your child is absent from school you can go onto the Saint James and Saint Ann’s website https://www.stjameselementary.ca and under the Parents Tab there is a link to Absentee Note.  Once you have completed this page an email will be sent to the school – this will be sufficient to alert the school of your child’s absence from school and qualify for government funding.

  • Movie Night

Our Fall Movie Night is just around the corner, on Friday, October 27th, 2017. This year we will be showing ‘Despicable Me 3.’ If you’re a new family to our school, our school ‘Movie Nights’ really showcase our sense of community. Please come and enjoy the pre-release showing of ‘Despicable Me 3’ shown on our big screen……but don’t forget your blankets and pillows!!! Most returning families have already experienced our ‘Movie Nights’ and they all agree that it is a wonderful time for our children to reconnect with their friends and enjoy a pre-release showing.

Note to all parents who may be coming out for their very first ‘Movie Night ,’ it is commonplace to bring your own foldable chair to have a comfortable place to sit, and
there is a concession as well. The children bring blankets and pillows and find a place on the gym floor to enjoy the film. We look forward to seeing you there!
