  • Care for Everyone in Our Common Home

In our school mass on Wednesday January 10, Fr. Hien spoke to the congregation about the importance of listening to God in our prayers. He went on to remind the students, staff, and the parents in attendance that often when we pray we do all the talking and we do not take the time to enter into the silence of our own mind to listen to what God may be telling us. I encourage us then to find those moments of silence in which we can listen to God. And in doing this, we may gain better clarity on how God wants to direct us to care for others and ourself.

  • Snow Days

Thursday and Friday have been a wonderful learning opportunity for me and how I can better communicate with the parent community in the future with respect to inclement weather. In the future, if St. John Brebeuf closes and we remain open, we will post it on our website, facebook account, and the Remind app. I am sorry for any confusion the past two days may have caused families.

  • Workshop on Anxiety

Making Sense of Anxiety in Children and Youth

Dr. Gordon Neufeld sheds light on the problem of the escalating level of anxiety in our children, and paves the way for natural interventions to get to the root causes as opposed to just managing symptoms. Although the focus is on children, the material will benefit anyone suffering from anxiety.

St. Ann’s Family Group invites all parents and caregivers to this video course, facilitated by Kevin Bredeman, MA, on Thursdays, Jan. 11, 18, 25 and Feb. 1, from 7-9 p.m. at St. Ann’s Parish. Cost is $30/person.
