  • Yarn for Grade 7

The Grade 7 class will once again be knitting toques for the migrant workers in Abbotsford; however, they are in need of donations of yarn to be able to make this happen.  Please check your cupboards at home to see if you have any balls of yarn that you no longer plan to use, or consider buying a ball of yarn to donate if you are out shopping.  Donations will be accepted from November 18th – 29th, and can be brought directly to the Grade 7 classroom or dropped off at the school office.  Please support this very worthy cause and help the Grade 7s put their faith into action.

  • Red Cross Babysitters' Course

We are happy to announce that once again we will be hosting the Red Cross Babysitters’ Course at our school.  The dates of the course are as follows:

    • Monday, February 3rd
    • Monday, February 10th
    • Monday, February 24th
    • Monday, March 2nd

The classes will run from 2:45 – 4:45pm each Monday, and will cost $65 per participant.  Students must be at least 10 years old when the course begins, must attend all four classes to receive a completion certificate, and we must have a minimum of 16 students sign up to take the course for it to go ahead.  Once again Mrs. Filiatrault will be the sponsor teacher for this course.  Watch for an announcement coming soon about when the registration forms will be available for pick up at the school office.

  • Community Coffee

Our next Community Coffee will take place on Monday, November 25th in the school gym at 8:30am.  We hope to see you there!

  • Parent Information Regarding Vaping

With the concerns that have recently been in the media regarding vaping, and the number of young people who seem to be drawn to this, it is important for parents to be informed regarding the consequences of vaping.  To learn more so that you can have good conversations with your children, please click here to arm yourselves with the latest information.

  • Gym Bags

When students change for P.E. class, they are taught to take their gym strip out of their gym bag, quickly get changed, and then put their school uniform in their gym bag where it remains until their P.E. class is finished.  This makes it very easy for the students to locate all pieces of their school uniform for a quick change to return to their classroom.  However, there are a number of students in the school who do not have gym bags, and there have been several incidences of uniform pieces going missing or getting mixed up with another student’s belongings.  If your child does not have a gym bag we strongly encourage you to purchase one to avoid these mix ups.

  • Giving Tree

Advent will soon be upon us, and we will once again be putting up a giving tree in the entrance of the school.  The tree will be covered with gift tags to help support those families in need, with the assistance of St. Vincent de Paul.  When you take a tag from the tree, please purchase the item listed on the tag, and return the item to the school.  You will then be able to replace your tag with an ornament for the tree.  Next week we will be sending out an email to school families asking for the donation of a live tree for the entrance of the school – please watch your inbox for this important message.  We hope that through your generosity the giving tree will be covered with many ornaments by time we close the school for the Christmas break.

  • Hospital Mass - November 24th

The monthly Hospital Mass will take place tomorrow, Sunday, November 24th at 4:00pm at the Sacred Space in the Abbotsford Hospital.  Any students wishing to read, please meet Mrs. Wakely at 3:45 at the Sacred Space.  This is a wonderful outreach opportunity for our students and their families.
