November 05, 2021
  • The Road to Bethlehem

We are very excited to let you know that based on the feedback of parents in the survey at the beginning of the school year, the support and efforts of the school staff, and with the approval of Fraser Health, we are going ahead with an outdoor Christmas event on December 16th at the school.  More information will be coming home on Monday in a letter to parents, as we also need your assistance in order to make this event the community building experience that we are hoping for.  There will be several things that we are asking in this letter, and we would like the permission form attached to the letter to be returned no later than Wednesday, November 10th.  We are so looking forward to walking with you along The Road to Bethlehem, to hear the real Christmas story.

  • No School - November 11, 12, 18 and 19

There will be no school on Thursday, November 11th as we celebrate Remembrance Day and honour those who fought for the freedoms that we enjoy.  There will also be no school on Friday, November 12th.  Please note that Thursday, November 18th we will be having our Parent/Teacher Interviews, which will be held virtually this year, and there will be no school for the students.  The sign up link for these interviews will be sent home at the beginning of next week by email.  Friday, November 19th is a Professional Day for the staff as we learn more about Truth and Reconciliation.

  • Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found box is once again overflowing with items.  These items will be hung or placed on tables in the foyer of the school, and parents will be able to come and check for their child’s things.  The items can be looked through from the afternoon on Monday, November 8th to the morning of Wednesday, November 10th.  Items that are not claimed during this time will be donated to charity.

  • Work Bee - November 6th

The next Work Bee will take place at the school today, November 6th from 9:00am – 2:00pm.  For those parents who are attending this Work Bee, please bring a rake if possible, a cordless blower if you have one, gloves for indoor and outdoor work, and a mask.  Your assistance at the school is most appreciated.

  • Backordered Thunderwear Jogging Pants

Thank you for your patience!  The Thunderwear jogging pants that were on backorder have arrived and will be coming home with your child this coming week.  If you have any questions, please contact the office.

  • Shopfunds Gift Cards

Our next fundraising program will launch this coming week, which we believe will truly be a WIN-WIN fundraiser.  You will not be “out of pocket” in any way, and the school will still make 3-10% on your everyday grocery, household and Christmas purchases.

    • You pay face value for the gift cards!
    • Many different participating retailers:  grocery stores, entertainment options, gas stations and so many more!
    • For each gift card purchased, retailers offer a 3-10% kickback to our school.
    • Many ways you can use gift cards: purchase them to use at your favourite grocery store, purchase them for the retailers you plan to buy Christmas gifts from or use them as your gifts!

Look out for more information and order form coming this week, and help support our school!

  • Daily Health Check

Please complete a Daily Health Check with your child each day before they come to school.  The easiest way to do this is to go to the BC K-12 Health Check website by clicking here.  Please also remember that adults and children in Kindergarten – Grade 7 are required to wear masks in indoor spaces.  These proactive steps will help us all remain safe and healthy.
