  • Education Committee Positions Available

Applications are now being accepted for positions on the 2023/24 Regional Education Committee (REC). The committee meets monthly to review policies, and discuss matters pertaining to the school. Each committee member is responsible for a portfolio that supports the operation of our school in various ways. This is a role position, which means that REC members are not required to complete parent participation or special event hours on top of their commitments. For any questions or to request an application form, please email Tasha Mijinke (ecchair@stjameselementary.ca) or Julie Lee (principal@stjameselementary.ca). All applications need to be submitted by May 19, 2023.
  • Spaces Available for 2023 - 2024

While we had a very successful re-registration of our existing students, and will be welcoming many new students to the school in September, there are still some spaces available for the 2023-2024 school year.  If you know of ay families who are considering sending their children to our school, please let them know that the Application Package can be found on our school’s website.

  • Ready, Set, Learn

On Wednesday, May 30th we will be hosting our Ready, Set, Learn event from 6:00 – 7:00pm. This evening is for parents whose children are 3-5 years of age, who have not yet started school.  And  of course, the 3-5 year olds are welcome to join in the fun.  Please click below for more information.

  • Consignment Donations

Do you have school uniform pieces that your children have outgrown, and you don’t know what to do with them?  Please consider donating them to the school to go into our uniform cupboard.  We will be having a huge sale of used uniform pieces. As you do your spring cleaning, we will happily take uniform pieces that are clean and in good condition.  You can simply drop them off at the school office and we will take care of the rest!

  • No School - May 23rd

Just a reminder that the school will be closed on Monday, May 23rd for the Victoria Day holiday.  We hope all families have a wonderful long weekend.

  • Next School Mass - Friday, May 27th

Our next school Mass will take place on Friday, May 27th at 9:00am at St. James Church, led by our Kindergarten class.  We would ask all students who are able to bring some fresh cut flowers from their garden at home, to place in front of the statue of Mary at the Church.  In the morning on May 27th when the students arrive at school, the flowers will be placed in vases to be brought to the Church.  Parents are welcome to attend this Mass to help us show Mary how much we love her.

  • Zumbathon 2022 Update

Thank you very much to all those families who have brought in their pledge form and money collected so far.  We look forward to sharing our total money raised with the school community very soon.

It is amazing to see that every pledge counts no matter the dollar value.  All students who have submitted their pledge sheets by this past Thursday are eligible to earn Prize Raffle Tickets which many can’t wait to use for the Zumbathon Prize Rally in early June.  To keep the Zumbathon “momentum” going, please hand in your pledge sheets and money collected as soon as possible.  Please note that pledging online is now closed; however, we are still collecting pledge sheets and money in the office.

Thank you for your support of our great school!
