  • Staffing Update

    Dear Parents,

I would like to inform you that Mrs, Magel will be moving out of the Lower Mainland.  She has been a great asset to our school and we wish her and her family all the best as they embark on this new adventure.

Luckily, St. James and St. Ann’s school has many dedicated and talented educators.  It is with deep gratitude that I am able to announce that the staff quickly came together to solve this staffing vacancy.  I am proud to announce that Mrs. Doyle and Miss Lewis, both from our Learning Resource Team, have stepped up to team teach the Grade 3 Class.  Both of these educators have a variety of experience between them, including having taught Grade 3.  Mrs. Cobo from our Learning Resource department has agreed to share her expertise with the school community by expanding her work hours and caseload.  Mrs. Winship has stepped up to teach the Grade 2 students.  Mrs. Winship also has a variety of  experience from her years as an educator, and has taught Grade 2 for many years.  She has experience not only in Grade 2, but also with the Sacramental preparation that is integral to the Grade 2 program. Mrs. Dodd, who is an EA with a strong foundation in Orton Gillingham (OG) reading strategies, has agreed to help the Learning Resource Department by dedicating all of her time to helping students, by implementing a strong OG program. With these educators coming together to put the needs of the students in our school at the forefront, we can ensure that the educational programming will continue to flourish and maintain the high standards that have already been set out.

Please help me in welcoming these fine educators into their new roles.  May they serve as a reminder to all of us, to emulate Mary and to say “YES” when we receive the call to help the greater good. (#Proudprincipalmoment)

  • Endow's Letter to Women Study

    Endow’s Letter to Women Study
All women are invited to join the St. James Mom’s Study Group as we unpack Pope St. John Paul II’s Letter to Women. We will gather two Wednesdays a month, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the St. James Church meeting room, starting on January 25th and ending on May 10th. Letter to Women is a pastoral letter that Pope St. John Paul II wrote to all women of the world in 1995, ahead of the Fourth World Conference on Women. We will be using the Endow (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women) study guide as we read through John Paul II’s beautiful teaching on the feminine genius. All women are welcome as we journey together. Join us for fellowship and a break in routine to learn alongside other women in our community.
Cost is $20 USD for a digital copy or $40 USD for a hard copy. For more information contact Eileen Gaudet at eileenmgaudet@gmail.com. To learn more about Endow, visit endowgroups.org.
