St. Valentine, Love, and the Power of Kindness
As we celebrate St. Valentine and Valentine’s Day, we are reminded that love is much more than cards, candy, or flowers. St. Valentine, a priest and martyr of the early Church, lived a life rooted in Christ-like love—selfless, courageous, and generous. His witness reminds us that true love is shown not only in words, but in actions.In the Gospel, Jesus calls us to love one another as He has loved us. For our school community, Valentine’s Day is a beautiful opportunity to reflect on how we live out that call each day through acts of kindness. A kind word to a classmate, welcoming someone who feels left out, offering help without being asked, or showing patience and forgiveness are all simple but powerful ways to share God’s love.
Acts of kindness may seem small, but they have a lasting impact. They build a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and cared for. When we choose kindness, we reflect the heart of Christ and honor the example of St. Valentine, who put love into action even when it was difficult.As we celebrate this Valentine’s Day, may we look beyond the celebration itself and focus on living lives of love, compassion, and service. Let us challenge ourselves to make kindness a daily habit, so that our school continues to be a place where God’s love is seen and felt by all.

Olympic Success!
Our school Olympic Celebration was a great success!
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who helped make our School Olympics such a wonderful success. From the teachers and staff who organized and supervised events, to the parents and volunteers who generously gave their time, your support made the day run smoothly and joyfully. Most of all, we thank our students for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and great sportsmanship. It was truly a fun-filled day full of energy, laughter, and school spirit—one that will be remembered fondly by our entire school community.A very special thank you to Mrs. Baker for her hard work and leadership in organizing and running this wonderful event!

Hospital Mass
Students and families of the St. James and St. Ann’s School community are invited to the Hospital Mass at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 22, at 4pm. It will take place in the Sacred Space on the main floor. This is a great opportunity for grade 7 students as they begin their service hours for Confirmation. Mass at the hospital takes place every month on the 4th Sunday. Hospital Masses have been scheduled for Mar. 22, April 19 and May 24. Please mark your calendars! Workbee
The February Work Bee will take place at the school Saturday, February 21, from 9am-2pm. Please note that this is a change in schedule. The workbee has been delayed to the third Saturday of the month because of the Family Day long weekend. You may want to bring gloves for outside work. It would also be greatly appreciated if you could bring any small gardening tools, particularly a rake. Please also bring a lunch for the mid-day break. Thank you once again for all of your hard work to keep our school well maintained and beautiful!

School AGM
The St. James and St. Ann’s Annual General Meeting is on February 25th at 7:00pm in the gym. This will be when you can pick up your T4 slips. There will also be a draw for one months free tuition for all that attend the evening. We will be presenting the classic Iron Giant this upcoming Movie Night! It’s the perfect way to relax and enjoy a movie night with our amazing school community.
Date: Friday, February 27- Time: 6:00 PM (Doors open at 5:30 PM)

Basketball We extend our sincere thanks to the members of our basketball team and to all the coaches for a successful season. Through dedication, teamwork, and perseverance, our players represented our school with pride both on and off the court. Alert - Traffic Changes
Traffic Alert – Lane Closure
As early as March 2, 2026, traffic on the Mt. Lehman structure will be reduced from three lanes to two, with one lane operating in each direction.This lane reduction is needed for construction on the Mt. Lehman structure. Lane reductions are anticipated to be in place until the end of 2026. At construction completion, the Mt Lehman structure will be widened to five lanes from the existing three.Access
Access to area businesses will be maintained as usual. However, road users can expect increased traffic and delays when traveling on Mt. Lehman Road, especially over the Mt. Lehman structure. Pedestrian, cycling, and transit access across the Mt Lehman structure will be maintained throughout construction. We are asking that users follow posted signage and use designated paths for their safety.We appreciate your patience during construction. Zajac Ranch Summer Camp
Summer at Zajac Ranch is more than just camp, it’s a place where everyone belongs.From first-timers to returning campers, children to young adults, our summer programs are thoughtfully designed to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering experience for individuals of all abilities.
Our goal is to ensure that all children with special medical needs in British Columbia and across Canada can participate in a camp experience. Mindful that many families with children or young adults with medical conditions are burdened by significant expenses for specialized care, treatment, and education for their child, we established the Zajac Camper Allowance to help families in need of support. This Allowance offsets the cost of registration and is made available to all campers. Our long-term goal is to someday be able to offer a camp experience to any child, regardless of medical condition or financial situation, free of charge.
Whether it’s our ASD Camp, Mixed Medical Camp, or Young Adult Camp, participants get to enjoy classic camp adventures like horseback riding, canoeing, ropes courses, climbing, and swimming, all within a supportive, sensory-aware, and fully accessible environment. With experienced, compassionate staff and programs adapted to individual needs, campers build confidence, independence, and genuine connections while being celebrated for who they are.Ready to create a summer filled with joy, fun and friendship! Royal Soccer Club Summer Day Camps
The Royal Soccer Club, a registered non-profit organization that has been delivering high-quality summer soccer day camps for children across Canada since 1993. Today, we are proud to be the largest grassroots summer soccer camp program in the country.We are preparing for our upcoming summer day camps for children ages 5 to 13, running at a nearby location throughout the summer. Our programs focus on skill development, teamwork, confidence-building, and fun in a positive, supportive environment.
