  • Student Led Conferences

Please ensure that you have booked an appointment for Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, April 16th, from 8:30 – 4:00pm at the school. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with your child to discuss his/her strengths, areas of improvement, behaviour, and progress thus far this year!  This will not be a regular school day, and students attend only for their Conference time, in their school uniform.  The link to sign up was emailed to parents last week.  If you haven’t signed up for a time yet, please do so soon as the spaces are quickly filling up.

The link is: https://schoolinterviews.ca/code/sq2cw  Please sign up no later than Tuesday, April 14th to reserve your spot.

School-aged siblings are encouraged to bring a book or quiet activity and they are welcome to sit outside on a chair in the hallway while they are waiting their turn. There is no child-minding available on this day.

Just a reminder that the school is closed on Friday, April 17.

    Get outside and play!

Physical activity is a necessary requirement for optimal health. Regular physical activity in childhood and adolescence helps to develop cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength, supports positive social connections and improves mental well-being.

There are many benefits to unstructured play. These benefits are even greater when engaging in physical activity outdoors. When children and youth spend time outside, they:

    1. Sit less, move more and play longer – key to cardiovascular health and fitness.
    2. Have healthier eyes – spending more time outside reduces nearsightedness risks.
    3. Sleep better – sunlight helps regulate sleep hormones and sleep patterns.
    4. Enjoy improved mood – physical activity can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
    5. Feel more connected to nature – appreciation of the environment and being in nature can support healthy and balanced emotions.

Planning active outings doesn’t have to be challenging or costly. Here are some fun ideas you can try:
