  • Care for Everyone in Our Common Home

I would like to share a prayer with you that came my way while I was at the Principal’s Leadership Conference. It is a prayer that I have shared with the staff at St. James and St. Ann’s Elementary. I think you will find that it is a most appropriate prayer for what can be a sometimes stressful time of year.

Heavenly Father, I release to you the burdens that I have been carrying, burdens that You never intended for me to carry. I cast all my cares upon You-all my worries, all my fears.

Father, calm my restless spirit, quiet my anxious heart, still my troubling thoughts with the assurance that You are in control. I let go of my grip upon the things I have been hanging onto, with opened hands I come to You.

I thank You for Your promise to sustain me, preserve me, and guard all that I have entrusted to Your keeping. Protect my heart and mind with Your peace, the peace that passes all understanding. Father, may Your will be done in my life, in Your time, and in Your way.

  • New time for Newsflash

I have changed the outgoing time for the Newsflash from Sunday at 11am to Saturday at 8am. The reason for the change is that I would like to get away from emails going out on Sundays. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Christmas Giving Tree

Our Giving Tree has been a huge success! We have actually run out of tags and are having to create more tags for the tree. What an inspiring and faith-filled community we have at St. James and St. Ann’s Elementary! The Giving Tree will run for one more week. Please have all items in by December 15th. Thank you to all who have already contributed.

  • Workshop on Anxiety

Making Sense of Anxiety in Children and Youth

Dr. Gordon Neufeld sheds light on the problem of the escalating level of anxiety in our children, and paves the way for natural interventions to get to the root causes as opposed to just managing symptoms. Although the focus is on children, the material will benefit anyone suffering from anxiety.

St. Ann’s Family Group invites all parents and caregivers to this video course, facilitated by Kevin Bredeman, MA, on Thursdays, Jan. 11, 18, 25 and Feb. 1, from 7-9 p.m. at St. Ann’s Parish. Cost is $30/person. Register to reserve your spot. Childcare is available upon request for children 3+. For more details, e-mail stannsfamilygroup@gmail.com or visit rcav.org/event/making-sense-of-anxiety.
