  • Presentation by Jesse Miller

How much do you know about the digital world your kids are living in?  Probably not enough!  Jesse Miller will be presenting a parent workshop called “Social Media and Digital Literacy – Become an Active and Engaged Parent” on Monday, November 14th at 7:00 – 8:30pm in the gym at St. Mary’s School, Chilliwack.  Jesse will cover a number of current concerns pertaining to youth and social media use.  He will discuss a positive approach to technology while reflecting the parental, school, and community concerns associated with social media abuse and technology distractions.  If your kids don’t have access to digital devices, they soon will.  If you think your kids are too young, they won’t be for long.  Social media and the digital world provide outstanding opportunities for growth and connectedness, but also provide never before seen dangers.  Are your children ready to face this?  Are you ready to help them?  This presentation is free to all parents, however donations will be gratefully accepted at the door to defray the cost of the presentation.

  • Gift Cards for Christmas Giving

Why not save yourself some time during this busy season and easily purchase all your Christmas gift cards from us!  Once again, the St. James & St. Ann’s School Parent Fundraising Association (PFA) is pleased to offer the Shopfunds gift card fundraising program in time for Christmas.  Gift cards are available from a wide variety of grocery stores, department stores, home improvement stores, specialty stores, restaurants, entertainment, travel, spas and gas stations.

For all your shopping needs, it’s a great opportunity for you to purchase gift cards and raise money for your school at the same time.  When purchasing gift cards through this program, our school earns between 1% – 10% of the value of each card purchased.  Gift cards can be ordered by simply filling out the order form sent home with your child last week, or print one by clicking here, and sending in a cheque payable to St. James & St. Ann’s School.  It’s that simple!

Please return order forms and payment to the school office no later than 3:00pm on Monday, November 21st.  Late orders will not be accepted.  Gift cards will be ready for pick up at the school office sometime during the first week of December.
